Gorretti Byomire is a Lecturer and Director of the Disability Resource and Learning Centre at Makerere University Business School (MUBS). She is also an Alumnus of YALI program and the Mandela Washington Fellow and currently serves as the Chairperson of the Mandela Washington Fellowship Disability Inclusion Knowledge Network. Gorretti is also the Vice President of the US Exchange Alumni Uganda, a group that comprises of 5000 alumni of the U.S exchange programs in Uganda. She also leads the Disability Inclusion US Exchange Alumni Network-Uganda comprised of all Alumni of the different US Exchange Programs involved in the disability space. Gorretti is a Gender, Diversity and Disability Researcher and Consultant, and has also engaged in a lot of Disability Advocacy in Inclusive Education, Inclusive Health, Digital Technology/IT and Employment/Livelihoods. She is also the CEO & founder of Byomire Inclusive Development Foundation (BIDF) whose vision is to have an empowered resilient and inclusive society; the major key populations of focus for BIDF are women and girls, the youth, Persons with Disabilities, the elderly, refugees and single fathers. Gorretti sits on other boards including the MUBS School Council, MUBS Management Committee and Technical Advisory Disability Committee. She mentors and trains people in Diversity, Equity & Inclusion. She is a member of the Commonwealth Disabled People’s Forum, a member of the Inclusive Education Initiative Group by the World Bank and Lion’s Club International (LCIF). Gorretti is the President of Lion’s Club, Kampala New Century where she serves the underserved.

• Creating an education fund in order to foster education among the vulnerable groups so as to develop human capital and developing/building skills for the vulnerable.

• Researching solutions on disability, digital, social, financial, gender, and education inclusion.
• Undertaking multidisciplinary research and engagement with evidence–based knowledge building in business development, resource mobilization, personal growth and development.
• Networking with all other developmental agencies and government in enhancing the objectives of the foundation.
